Well my cousins wedding was this weekend and it was definitely nothing that I wanted or expected it to be. But I guess that part doesn't matter for it wasn't my wedding. Usually when I attend a wedding I usually get the feeling that I want to get married..... BUT this wedding didn't have the same affect. The wedding was a destination wedding on beaver island. Like I said before it was a three hour drive to the ferry and then a two and a half hour ferry ride. Once we got done with the car ride we had to go get our tickets I already paid for my ticket earlier in the year and just had to tell the lady my name and my ticket would be waiting for me. (Which I was told not even two days before) Well my ticket wasn't there. I was not happy about that..... soo instead of everyone else trip over my trip cost me $100 dollars when it should have only been 42 which I had already paid.
NOTE TO SELF: DON'T HAVE A DESTINATION WEDDING. So before we even got over to the island I was not thrilled. But I got over it and got excited for the ferry ride since that is one of the things on my bucket list that I want to do before I die. In fact I most likely would have had more fun if I just rode the ferry back and forth the whole weekend then attend the wedding.
The first night we get checked into our hotel and then headed over for the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal was a joke everyone had started drinking on the ferry so by the time of the rehearsal everyone was pretty much tanked which made the rehearsal really loud and a complete waste of time.
NOTE TO SELF: DON'T HAVE ALCOHOL AT THE REHEARSAL DINNER! After the rehearsal we headed back over to the hotel to have the rehearsal dinner. The dinner was sooooo good there were cheesy potatoes, green beans, bread and some kind of meat I wanna say pork. One thing that I actually liked about the rehearsal dinner was before anyone got up to get food they had to stand up and say one nice thing about the groom or the bride. I thought that was a great idea! The rest of the night was obviously spent going to bed really early since tomorrow was the big day!!!! NOT.... the rest of the night was spent drinking and then more drinking....... I went to bed or tried to go to bed. lol
The next day was the wedding. All of the girls woke up super early and got our stuff together to go and get ready at the cabin. I was then expected to do all the bridesmaids hair. Which I kindly did of course. Then after that I had to head back over to the hotel and cut and make sure that all the groomsmen where dressing and cut the grooms hair along with a couple others. That left me with about 10 min to get ready :/
NOTE TO SELF: PAY SOMEONE TO DO HAIR OR AT LEAST SAY THANK YOU! Rough morning that ended with a rough night. After the wedding I caught a ride back to the hotel with my mom and dad and we spent the rest of the night relaxing and laying on the beach. (this was my favorite part of the whole weekend, I LOVE THE BEACH!) After the relaxing day around 12:30 I walked back to my hotel room to find one of the boys in the wedding waiting for me to drive up to the hotel and bring all the drunk people back to the hotel. So the rest of my night was back and forth to the cabin and hotel making sure the rest of the bridal party got back safe. Lets just say I was soooooo anxious to get home!!! What a great weekend!!!! Even though it was not a fun weekend for me and I will never go back to beaver island I do know of somethings that I will keep in mind when I go to have my own wedding one day!!!
NOTE TO SELF: INVITE MY WHOLE FAMILY!!!
pictures soon to follow :)
